So yesterday, Stephenie Meyer surprised everyone by releasing a rewriting of "Twilight" where the genders of most characters were swapped. If you're thinking "wait, didn't I read a fanfic like that?" - we live in a world where a Twilight AU fanfic was able to make millions of dollars, and at least one other Twilight fanfic got some decent sales. A fandom_wank post led me to a review of a horrible, horrible 1980s romance novel.

Now, when I say "horrible" I am not talking about quality. I am talking about content. I am talking about a story with an utterly loathsome, creepy stalker and abuser of a protagonist who, quite inexplicably, is supposed to be a sympathetic here.
